Which regions does GIMAR cover?
Our focus is the European Short-Sea market between the Baltic, North Sea, Mediterranean and Black Sea. Intercontinental shipments are arranged on request.
What cargo types do you broker?
Break-bulk, dry-bulk and project cargoes of every nature and description.
Is GIMAR a member of any trade body?
Yes – GIMAR is a member of BIMCO (Baltic and International Maritime Council), the world’s largest international shipping association.
In which languages can I communicate with GIMAR?
English, German and Italian. Our management is German-Italian.
How do I get in touch?

What is the difference between a voyage charter and a time charter?
Under a voyage charter the vessel is hired for a specific cargo from port A to port B; the owner bears vessel operating costs. Under a time charter the vessel is hired for a fixed period; the charterer pays bunkers and port costs. GIMAR brokers both.
Do you handle Contracts of Affreightment (COA)?
Yes. For clients with recurring or long-term shipping requirements we structure Contracts of Affreightment that cover multiple voyages under a single framework agreement, providing planning certainty and competitive rates.
